What Makes Me Unique
What is it about you that makes you unique? …….what is your passion? What gives you fulfillment? What gives you joy? What do you dream about?
The definition of unique refers to being the only one of its kind, unlike anything else. So the question is, what makes me unique? What attributes make me unlike anyone else? Now, let me stop you…. I am NOT saying compare yourself to others, NO!!!!! This is not the message here. What I am saying is, what is it about you that makes you unique? An example is a snowflake. There are no two snowflakes exactly alike. However, they are beautiful and unique separately, as well as among other snowflakes as snow. Once you identify what makes you who you are, you can begin to claim this uniqueness, which leads to confidence in who you are, which is tied to walking in your purpose. Reflect on the following questions…….what is your passion? What gives you fulfillment?
What gives you joy? What do you dream about? You might ask the question, why is identifying my unique attributes important? What do others say about you? Attributes refer to quality, character, or characteristics. Below are a few examples of attributes that describe uniqueness.
Accountable Achiever Ambitious Caring
Cheerful Consistent Cooperative Courageous
Decisive Dependable Efficient Empathetic
Encourager Engaging Enthusiastic Exciting
Genuine Good Listener Hardworking Helpful
Motivated Organizer Outgoing Planner

I reflected on myself and walked my family through this process. Here are the results reflecting on the previous questions and reflections.
Mine: Encourager, Motivated, Caring
Spouse: Accountable, Result Oriented, Problem Solver
Son: Caring, Personable, Generous
Mom: Encourager, Caring, Proactive
As you evolve, gain experiences, and mature, your unique attributes will evolve also. This process is not a sprint it is a marathon that will take you up and down steep hills, sharp curves, and bumps in the road.
However, having confidence in your uniqueness and purpose impacts how you approach work, school, colleagues, projects, goals, family, and friends. You begin to hold your head up, shoulders back, knowing that when you walk into a room, you are qualified, you belong, you are unique, and you are enough because you are actively walking in your purpose.
